MASSAPEDIA NEWS - Candidate for US presidential of the Republican Party, Donald Trump correcting for comment on the practice of abortion after receiving sharp criticism from various parties this week.

In an interview with MSNBC on Wednesday (30/3) Trump initially stated that women who have abortions should have been punishable, if later abortions banned in the US.

This comment came out when the broadcaster MSNBC, Chris Matthews pressed Trump to select "Yes" or "No" to the question, "that abortion should they be punished?"

"There must be some sort of punishment," said Trump answer that question, quoted by CNN.

Matthews then continued to ask, "The punishment for the woman?"

Trump replied, "Yes."

In the interview, Trump reluctant to specify how women who have illegal abortions should face punishment.

Suddenly, Trump's comments sparked widespread condemnation from its rival, the abortion support group and even from some antiabortion groups.

Trump has finally released a statement stating that women who have abortions are victims, while doctors who practice it must take responsibility and accept the punishment.

"If Congress passed the policy to establish abortion as illegal practices, and a federal court is subject to this policy, and the state may prohibit abortion under federal and state law, then the doctor or other person committing illegal acts against a woman's will be held accountable in the eyes of the law, and not the woman, "Trump said in a statement.

"The woman is the victim in this case, as the life in her womb. My position has not changed, such as Ronald Reagan, I am pro-life, with a few exceptions," said Trump.

Abortion has long been a controversial issue in American politics, even though the abortion procedure has been endorsed by the Supreme Court more than 40 years ago.

Conservative politicians generally opposed the practice of abortion.

Antiabortion group stated Trump's comments conflict with their attitude. "In all positions of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops on abortion, no one called for punishment for women who had an abortion," said Don Clemmer, spokesman for the antiabortion group.

Meanwhile, rival Trump, John Kasich who opposes abortion except in certain cases such as rape, stated, "Of course, women should not be punished."

Meanwhile, rivals more Trump, Senator Texas, Ted Cruz stated Trump does not think broadly about the problem. "All too often overlooked is that the pro-life view is not just about the unborn child, but also about the mother," said Cruz.
